While the Setting

You try to absorb the sunset
which looks a thousand years old,
like a past lover
you had once known,
now stored in a drawer
somewhere.

But the sketchy sense of déjà vu
betrays you

just like the time when you sought
to sew that blanket of stars,
or made an effort to
bring tears in your eyes,
and found none.
